"It profits me but little that a vigilant authority always protects the tranquillity of my pleasures and constantly averts all dangers from my path, without my care or concern, if this same authority is the absolute master of my liberty and my life."

Eric Holder Death Watch, Day 1

Congressman Darrell Issa of the House Government Oversight committee today finally issued a subpoena to Eric Holder, seeking more documents related to the Fast and Furious gunrunning operation, and what Holder and the White House knew about it, and when.   This article from Human Events ends with the key point:

The sound of a bus rumbling to life beneath the White House may well be heard, and Eric Holder’s family should prepare for the possibility that he’ll be spending a lot more time with them.
On the one hand, Holder knows where the bodies are buried for the Obama Administration, so firing him won't be an easy call.   On the other hand, how can Obama let this scandal drag on when election day 2012 is now less than 13 months away?   Methinks that the Democratic Party powers-that-be will find Holder a cushy 7-figure job in some connected law firm pretty soon now.
