Birthdays Today

Wake up, America!   It's John Philip Sousa's birthday!


It's also the movie director Mike Nichols' birthday, born in 1931.   Nichols' best work was probably The Graduate, which launched the career of Dustin Hoffman.   Here's the great scene at the end when Hoffman's character breaks up the wedding of Mrs. Robinson's daughter, Elaine:
