"It profits me but little that a vigilant authority always protects the tranquillity of my pleasures and constantly averts all dangers from my path, without my care or concern, if this same authority is the absolute master of my liberty and my life."

Dirtiest, Most Corrupt Campaign Ever

Here's a prediction for you.   We are 28 days out from the most important Presidential election of our time.   It is, to a large degree, a referendum on the hopes and dreams of the 1960s generation of liberals and, more to the point, it is a mortal threat to the hegemony of liberal interest groups and all of the assorted hangers-on who depend on the teat of government for their livelihoods.   I think Romney is going to win, and win big, and a Romney-Ryan ascendance will sound the death knell for Big Government liberalism in America.   (It will die anyway, because we can no longer afford to feed it, but it can either die peacefully, because of an election and a change of course that is conscious, or it can die violently in death throes that will end democracy as we know it in America.)   But the coalition of urban machine politicians, unions, blacks, elites, etc., aren't going to go down easily.   They are going to fight, and they are going to fight dirty.   I am predicting that this will be the dirtiest, most corrupt campaign ever waged, with foreign money and off-the-books union money being laundered into the Obama campaign, with dirty tricks against Romney and Ryan, with scurrilous and scandalous accusations against Republicans having no reference to reality, with October surprises that may include trumped-up military actions, with dead people voting, etc.   In my home state of Wisconsin, I expect busloads of Chicago Dems coming up to fraudulently vote in Milwaukee, where a liberal Madison judge has blocked our voter ID law.

None of it will work.   There are simply too many people who have now had the scales fall from their eyes and who now see Obama as he is, an Emperor Without Clothes.
