"It profits me but little that a vigilant authority always protects the tranquillity of my pleasures and constantly averts all dangers from my path, without my care or concern, if this same authority is the absolute master of my liberty and my life."

Girl of the Day - Natalie Wood

It's sad that Natalie Wood is only back in the news because of her untimely death in 1981, which is apparently now being re-investigated (to dovetail with a book coming out on the thirtieth anniversary of the tragedy).   It was ruled an accidental drowing; suspicions/conspiracy theories have always percolated; now people are raising it again.   For my money, I think Occam's razor here suggests that a 43 year-old movie actress in the age before actresses were psychotic exercise freaks, with a blood alcohol level of 0.l4 (legally drunk), and known to be a bad swimmer, might actually have just tripped, fallen and accidentally drowned.  She would be 73 years old this year.

But once upon a time she was the hottest hottest ticket in Hollywood history.   At least that's my view.

Disagree at your peril.
